Granton Finance
For accountants

When your client needs finance, refer them to someone who reads accounts for a living.

Granton Finance is run by a chartered management accountant. Your client's case is pre-underwritten by someone who speaks your language — and the client relationship stays yours.

The situation you know well

A good client wants to buy out their co-director, fund an acquisition, take over from a retiring owner, or replace kit — and the bank is slow, lukewarm, or says no. You can see the deal works. What you may not have is the lender panel, the time to package it, or the appetite to become a finance broker on top of everything else you do for them.

That is the gap we fill. You refer the situation; we structure it, pre-underwrite it the way a credit committee will read it, and place it with the lenders most likely to say yes on sensible terms. You are kept informed throughout, and your client comes back to you — better funded.

Why accountants refer to us specifically

  • A fellow professional, not a salesperson. The case is read by an ACMA CGMA chartered management accountant and serving finance director. When we talk to you about EBITDA adjustments, serviceability or the working-capital cycle, it is a conversation between accountants.
  • Pre-underwriting before submission. We fix what the lender would query — the debtor concentration, the director's loan position, the addbacks that need evidencing — before the file goes anywhere. Clean files get approved, and get approved faster.
  • We will say "don't borrow." If the deal shouldn't be done, we tell the client that, plainly. Your referral is never turned into a commission at your client's expense — which is precisely why it is safe to make.
  • Your client stays your client. We arrange the finance and hand back. We do not provide accountancy, tax or audit services through Granton, and we are not building a practice on your referrals.

The deals we arrange

Our specialism is the structuring-heavy work: management buyouts, buying out a co-director or partner, acquisitions, and succession from a retiring owner. Alongside those we arrange asset and equipment finance, invoice finance, commercial mortgages, and business loans — for limited-company clients, on commercial terms.

How a referral works

Email an outline — no forms, no portal. We come back the same working day with an honest view of whether it is fundable and roughly on what terms. If it stacks up, we take it forward with the client, keeping you copied at the level you prefer. If it doesn't, we say so and explain why, which is often useful to the client in itself.

We are paid by commission from the lender, disclosed to the client in writing before they commit. Where an introducer fee arrangement is appropriate, it is agreed and disclosed in writing from the outset — no surprises for anyone.
