Granton Finance
For solicitors

The funding side of the transaction, handled — so completion doesn't slip.

When a matter needs commercial finance in place by a date, your client needs a funding contact who moves at transaction speed and reads the numbers properly. That is what we do.

The matters where we help

  • Share and business purchases. Acquisition and buyout funding for SPAs you are drafting — including management buyouts, buying out a co-director, and succession purchases from a retiring owner, where structure matters as much as the money.
  • Shareholder and partnership exits. Where a dispute or a departure resolves into one party buying the other out, we fund the settlement so the agreement you have negotiated can actually complete.
  • Commercial property completions. Commercial mortgages and, where the timetable is tight, bridging to meet a completion date — including VAT bridging where your client must fund the VAT on a commercial purchase before recovering it.
  • Auction purchases. Contracts exchanged on the fall of the hammer and a 28-day clock: funding arranged to complete within it.
  • Probate and estate matters. Where a business or commercial property within an estate needs refinancing or a beneficiary is buying others out, funded so the estate can be administered rather than forced into a sale.

Why solicitors keep our number

The case is prepared by a chartered management accountant, which means the financial pack a lender needs — accounts, serviceability, security position — is assembled properly the first time, not discovered piecemeal at the eleventh hour. We pre-underwrite before submission: reading the case as the credit committee will, fixing what they would query, so approvals come cleanly and the legal timetable holds.

We are also straight with clients. If a deal should not be borrowed for, we say so before costs are run up — yours included. Nothing in our arrangement depends on the client proceeding with a bad idea.

How it works

Email the shape of the matter — parties, purpose, amount, timetable. We respond the same working day with a view on fundability and realistic timing, so you know early whether the transaction can be funded within its deadlines. If instructed, we run the funding workstream alongside your legal one and keep you informed to completion. Our commission from the lender is disclosed to the client in writing before they commit; any introducer arrangement is agreed and disclosed from the outset.

Parties, purpose, amount, deadline — two paragraphs is enough. Same-working-day view, so your timetable is protected.
